Kevin Spacey, Tony Award and Oscar winning actor, will host the 2017 Tony Awards on June 11, according to USA Today.
Spacey won a Tony Award in 1991 for his performance in “Lost in Yonkers.” He currently stars in the Emmy nominated Netflix series “House of Cards.”
Spacey joked that he was the “15th choice to host this year’s Tony Awards” and that his career is now “definitely going in the right direction.”
Jack Sussman, head of CBS’s coverage of specials and live events, said Spacey is the perfect host because of his “extensive repertoire, charisma and unparalleled dedication to live theater.”
The Tony Awards will air at 8 pm on CBS June 11.
